After a very enjoyable and productive visit to Trees’ magical West Country HQ recently we are beaming with pride to announce Earth (that’s us!) will be collaborating with the band to produce the definitive 50th anniversary reissues of ‘On The Shore’ and ‘The Garden of Jane Delawney’ later this year.

Can’t emphasise enough how jazzed we are to be working with one of our favourite artists of all time. We hope to do them justice. Obviously, timelines are a little bit scattered currently, but please stay tuned via Instagram, Twitter etc for more details (and a selection of archive photos and ephemera from the project) in the coming weeks.

For entirely sensible reasons Record Store Day has become a bit of a moving target. That can’t stop us getting excited about the exclusive vinyl we have in store.

Denis Hopper’s ‘The Last Movie’

We couldn’t be prouder of how this one turned out, put together by a talented team on both sides of the Atlantic, under the auspices of the Hopper Art Trust. The never-before-released soundtrack (featuring Kris Kristofferson, Michelle Phillips, John Buck Wilkin etc.) to a cult classic film has been pressed onto yellow vinyl in a beautiful gatefold sleeve and features extensive liner notes, and a wealth of photos from the production of the movie in Peru. Only 1000 copies extant, one to add to the RSD want list for sure.

‘Live In Italy’

A previously unreleased recording of Bert’s stunning concert in Mestre at the Teatro Corso in 1977. The performance also features appearances from Martin Jenkins, Sam Mitchell and Leo Wijnkamp Jr. Another fine Bert Jansch live performance pressed onto wax and added to the Earth catalogue for your enjoyment.

It’s been a long time coming, but the timing couldn’t be better for the streaming debut of feature length documentary The Ballad Of Shirley Collins. The critically acclaimed documentary from Fire Films is now available for your lockdown viewing pleasure via Vimeo On Demand, and for the first time digitally will include a host of mega extras:

Audio commentary version of the film with Shirley Collins in discussion with the directors Tim Plester and Rob Curry.
Featurette telling the story of Shirley’s secret comeback show at the Union Chapel in 2014. Includes the full footage of the show itself.
Behind the scenes film exploring the making of the film’s mesmerising reconstruction footage.
Field recordings of Sam Amidon and Elle Osborne playing songs they learned from Shirley Collins.
