Strange Gravity is London electronic music duo – Grant Strang and Williem Vincent.
Scottish producer, Grant Strang, spent the early 2000’s writing and playing synths with bands in his native Edinburgh before relocating to London where he now owns and runs the Silver Shark Studio complex in Tooting, South London, which boasts his unique vintage analogue synth collection. Grant has worked with artists including Sasha, Morcheeba, Suede, The Klaxons, Lush and Chrissie Hynde.
Irish vocalist, Williem Vincent, from Derry, has performed, recorded, and toured as a soloist, as well as a guitarist, with dance bands BabyJune and D:REAM, and rock band St. Silas Intercession, supporting artists as diverse as Placebo and Van Morrison.
After first working together in 2016 on Vincent’s solo album Rising Slowly, the two discovered a shared love of all things synth and electronica, collaborating on new material and co-production for other artists.
During the pandemic lockdown of 2020 that Strang began exploring and producing synth tracks within the limited means of his home studio, passing the demos to Vincent locked down in North London who worked on lyrics, melodies and vocals.
The result was a four-week burst of creativity that produced Strange Gravity, the duo’s self-titled debut album released in November 2020.
Strange Gravity II – Music For The Metaverse, is the duo’s second album, released on Alex Tronic Records on March 1st 2024.
