THE PAPER KITES: ‘ Without Your Love (feat. Julia Stone)’ primo singolo tratto da ‘Roses’, il nuovo disco in arrivo il 12 marzo (Nettwerk)

‘Without Your Love’, con il feat. di Julia Stone, è il primo brano tratto da ‘Roses’, il nuovo album di The Paper Kites in arrivo il 12 marzo (Nettwerk Records), una collezione di collaborazioni della band australiana con artisti noti nella scena musicale mondiale. Il primo singolo mostra le già note abilità di The Paper Kites nel coniugare il songwriting con armonie meravigliose, creando ballad che si muovono tra il folk-pop d’avanguardia ed un rock più sentimentale.

La collaborazione con Julia Stone – nota per essere la metà al femminile di Angus & Julia Stone – corona il sogno del frontman Sam Bentley: “I grew up listening to Julia’s music, and some of her work was pivotal in turning me down the road I went. So, to approach her and have her love that song and want to sing on it was an amazing full-circle moment – she’s such an important figure of the folk revival in Australia, and I don’t think we would be a band without them leading the way. It was a real honor to work with her.”

Prodotto da Bentley e Tom Iansek (#1 Dads, Big Scary), ‘Roses’ raggiunge l’importante obiettivo del frontman di duettare con artisti da ogni parte del mondo, tra cui, oltre a Julia Stone, Lucy Rose, Nadia Reid, Maro, Aoige O’Donovan, Rosie Carney, Ainslie Wills, Amanda Bergman, Lydia Cole, Gena Rose Bruce.

“It was first and foremost about finding the voices and artists we felt were right for each song, Adding, “I had written these songs and had always wanted to do an album like this, but I remember almost scrapping the whole project because it felt too hard. It was about finding the right voices for the songs – artists that couldn’t just sing but had something deep and moving in the way they sang – and that’s not every singer – it’s rare.” Sam Bentley.
