‘Tripping With Nils Frahm’ cattura un emozionante ed unico concerto
in una location tra le più iconiche di Berlino.
Il live album, in arrivo il 3 dicembre 2020, è tratto dal live di oltre quattro ore
che Nils Frahm ha tenuto a fine 2018 al Funkhaus di Berlino,
in occasione del lungo tour di ‘All Melody’, l’acclamato album di studio
pubblicato a gennaio 2018
Il film concerto che deriva dal live al Funkhaus di Berlino del 2018 è prodotto da Leiter,
in collaborazione con Plan B Entertainment, la casa di produzione cinematografica di Brad Pitt,
nel ruolo di produttore esecutivo del docu-film in oggetto che verrà presentato in anteprima
il 3 dicembre tramite il cinema in streaming MUBI https://mubi.com/it
Il primo live del tour di ‘All Melody’ al Funkhaus di Berlino, gennaio 2018, fu solo l’inizio di un lungo ed ambizioso viaggio durato due anni, durante i quali Nils Frahm si è esibito in oltre 180 concerti esauriti in tutto il mondo, dalla prestigiosa Sydney Opera House fino alla Disney Hall di Los Angeles, dal Barbican di Londra alla Elbphilharmonie di Amburgo, oltre a suonare da headliner in importanti festival. Grato di questa esperienza e di queste emozioni, un solo posto è nel cuore di Nils Frahm, il Funkhaus di Berlino, rinomato per il suo suono vintage e per la sua acustica.
Per Nils è anche casa: da anni infatti il suo studio risiede qui, ed è qui dove ha registrato ‘All Melody’, lo strepitoso album pubblicato nel 2018. A dicembre dello stesso anno Nils Frahm è tornato al Funkhaus per un concerto della durata di quattro ore, i cui biglietti sono terminati in pochissimo tempo. Durante quel memorabile live, l’amico regista e collaboratore di lunga data Benoit Toulemonde ha catturato la magia dell’evento filmando l’intero live.
‘Tripping With Nils Frahm’ mostra così le collaudate abilità di Nils, sia come compositore che come artista che, dal vivo, è in grado di regalare un live emozionante, uno straordinario viaggio musicale, raro ed esclusivo, intimo ed affascinante.
“It was about time to document my concerts in picture and sound, trying to freeze a moment of this period where my team and I were nomads, using any method of travel to play yet another show the next day. Maybe tonight is the night where everything works out perfectly and things fall into place? Normally things go wrong with concerts, but by combining our favorite moments of four performances, we were able to achieve what I was trying to do in these two years of touring: getting it right! When you hear the applause on the end of the film you should know that I was smiling happily, being a tad proud and feeling blessed to share these
