The Great Leslie are a London based Alt Rock band combining raw vocals with Rock n Roll influence to produce a sound that will leave you wanting more. Inspired by David Bowie, Ella Fitzgerald, Edith Piaf, Led Zeppelin and Jeff Buckley and so many more. Using their eclectic pool of influence, The Great Leslie are a powerhouse to reckon with.
Fronted by Ollie Trevers, a singer / songwriter from Leeds College of Music and ICMP, The Great Leslie have been performing live since early 2019, and have a number of successful EPs under their belt, which already showcase their progressive and evolving sound – from Post-Punk classic rock ‘ Saucy, Naughty, Rubbish’ to Psychedelic Blues, Folk-inspired ‘Cordelia’ and even more recently the House/EDL inspired sounds of their latest singles ‘IKYK’ (I Know You Know) and ‘Money’. Bringing poetry to their lyrics, distinctive talent to their vocals, punchy aspects to their rhythms and humour to their vibe, there’s no stopping this band ready to make their mark.
With headline gigs at the Camden Assembly, The Raven and The Finsbury under their belt, their live shows are a class above the rest. Previous successes include, their most recent single ‘Money’ being Track of the Week at BBC Introducing Suffolk, their previous single ‘I Know You Know’ getting repeated airtime on Planet Rock.
About the song –
Ollie says – “‘Out Of My Hands’ is almost like a confessional. It’s about being truthful with your self about who you are and about what your faults are and about accepting those things about you, because whatever they might be its not the end of the world. Love yourself, don’t beat yourself up.”
