The name, The Medea Project, was first heard on the east coast of South Africa when a group of talented young musicians made a briefly brilliant impact on a staid and unready music scene. Their determination to succeed brough them across the oceans to England where their struggles continued. Now a two piece consisting of Brett Minnie and Pauline Silver, a pair who have simply refused to admit defeat whatever has stood in their way, The Medea Project have just released their debut album – Sisyphus – to great critical acclaim. Along the way the band have worked with ex-Marduk drummer Fredrik Widigs to create some truly original album artwork, played some fantastic shows with the likes of Conan, The Prophecy, Godthrymm and Nibiru and been featured in magazines like Powerplay and Legacy.
It’s been an incredible story so far and the band decided to tell that story, in their own words, in a new video interview, which you can watch right here:
Of course, this is only chapter one in a tale that will undoubtedly run and run. There’s a lot more to come from The Medea Project, but we’re sure you’ll agree it’s already been one hell of a ride!
“Brutal, primitive and hostile, Sisyphus enters a realm that few dare to follow.” – POWERPLAY ROCK & METAL MAGAZINE
