DAKINIZ draws the curves of a new universe, between acid tales and demented rushes. The voice dictates the moods, sometimes enrages at the rhythm of anxiogenic arrangements, unrestrained riffs and crooked melodies.
Formed in 2012 in Paris, France, the trio released in 2013 a first 4-track eponymous EP. That same year, they came across Laurent Ciron (Dogs), who will produce their second EP in 2014 (Spontaneous Human Combustion With French Fries). The band perfected its live performances until the release in early 2017 of their first album, The Taste Is Good But The Smell Is Better. Twelve tracks including a cover of The Stranglers (Get A Grip On Yourself), again produced and recorded by L.Ciron at Happy House studio, and hailed by the French alternative press.
In 2019, Dakiniz crossed the English Channel and recorded its second album, Raging Shouts, at Wayne Adams’s Bear Bites Horse Studio (Death Pedals, Petbrick, Big Lad…). In the intimacy of the London studio, driven by the desire to create a raw blunt sound, the band gives birth to nine over-energized, effective and delirious tracks. A perfect blend of nervous English noise rock and a muscular American garage rock, the track Handbrake is released along a music video, shot in Los Angeles and Joshua Tree, CA. Score One For Satan, another highlight of the album with a music video, is definitely more angrier. A bestial and violent hymn to the glory of our most macabre obsessions… Amen!
After supporting bands like Future Of The Left or JOHN, Dakiniz also took part in a special broadcast hosted by Augustin Trapenard, on the French television channel Canal Plus: Biopic Rhapsody. Three tracks from the new album found their way into the live soundtrack of the show.
