Coddiwomple is a trio recently formed by the two guitarists Nicolas Lafourest and Olivier Mellano around singer G.W. Sok, co-founder of The Ex.
A powerful and atmospheric music where incandescent guitars and electric explosions give an abrasive and sparkling echo to the lyrical intensity and extreme tension of G.W. Sok’s singing who finds a new way here.
ABOUT THE VIDEO
Directed by Oli Heffernan, (friend and colleague of G.W. Sok in the band King Champion Sounds), the Music Video is a collection of sequences found around the web and edited according to his feelings compared to the text and the music.
ABOUT THE ALBUM
Inspired by the book of the same name by the Swiss writer Robert Walser (1878-1956) who is the fourth member of the trio. The title is adapted from a short story from this book. Two people in a boat, on a lake, at night. A nocturnal and magnetic painting where nothing seems to move and where everything can happen.
THE WALK and other stories was recorded and mixed by Nicolas Dick in Marseille in September 2019. The album cover is a painting by Haruko Maeda titled “Schwarz Bald“.
The album will be released March 6 2020 via A Tant Rêver Du Roi.
