Belgian fast melodic pop-punks For I Am released their second full album Late Bloomers in November 2019. After having released videos for singles The Armistice and Die Hard, the band has now uploaded a clip for P.I.G.O.T.R.Y., a song with a slightly more political undertone.
The title is a wordplay on George Orwell’s classic “Animal Farm” and an indictment against the current political views of a large part of the world’s inhabitants.
Lead singer Hanne: “It’s sad to have to acknowledge the fact that we’re headed towards a right-wing, conservative world, led by people who make the masses believe they’ll save the world by shouting the loudest of all. So many people blame others for their own misfortune and so many people cannot fathom that diversity is the exact thing that’ll save us. We need differences, we need as many views on the world, on what’s wrong and what’s right as possible, we all need each other. We’re not “us” versus “them”. We’re the human race. George Orwell was way ahead of his time when he wrote Animal Farm. Even back then, he got it completely right. But I and –fortunately – many others refuse to live in such a dystopia where “we’re all equal, but some of us are more equal than the others”… Let’s make a stand. Let’s speak out. Let’s put a stop to bigotry, misogyny, racism, etc. Let’s be there for those who need it most and discard our own privileged problems for just one second.”
Late Bloomers was released on Bearded Punk Records (BE), Sound Speed Records (US), Punk & Disorderly Records (CAN), Lockjaw Records (UK), La Agonía De Vivir (ES), Fond Of Life Records (DE), No Reason Records (IT), Trilob Records (NL) and Milestone Sounds (JAP).

Since playing their first show in 2014, For I Am have grown into one of the most well-known and active bands in the Belgian punk scene. The band’s always been a proud advocate of upbeat, powerful pop-punk songs with catchy hooks and strong vocals by lead singer Hanne.
Over the course of 5 years, the band has released an EP called ’15 Minutes Late’ (2015), a debut album by the name of ‘All About Perspectives’ (2017) and compilation CD made for their Japanese Tour in 2019.
Encouraged by their rising sales and enthused audiences, the band went back to the studio and recorded its second full album called ‘Late Bloomers,’ The album will be released on November 11th, 2019.
To promote their music, For I Am played a great deal of national and international shows, including several international tours through Europe, the UK and Japan. On top of that, they opened club shows for bands such as The Bombpops, Propagandhi, Lagwagon, Frenzal Rhomb, Iron Chic, Not On Tour and Satanic Surfers.
2019 has been a great year for the band as they got to play Belgian punk festivals GROEZROCK, El Topo Goes Loco and Brakrock Ecofest and they also headed out to Slovenia a second time for Punk Rock Holiday.
Future plans involve getting out on the road even more, playing festivals and heading out on tour if the opportunity arises to promote the new album as much as possible.
