Noise pop revisionists The Sweet Release Of Death announce their return
with third LP The Blissful Joy Of Living, out October 10 on Subroutine Records
The ominous ‘Sick Girl’ is the new single of noise pop trio The Sweet Release of Death. It’s accompanied by a brilliant, yet disturbing video made by Rotterdam multi-media artists Boomslang. It features stroboscopic sequences of stock images and footage of women, that follow the sinister progression of the song into nightmarish territories, with flashes of mangled, disfigured faces. ‘Sick Girl’ is streaming on all digital platforms as well.
The song follows haunting first cut ‘Sway’, that came out in May preceding the band’s heavily acclaimed performance at the Sharpe Festival in Bratislava. The band returns to Central Europe after the release of their third album ‘The Blissful Joy of Living’ [10/10, Subroutine Records]. Besides dates in Slovakia, Czech Republic and Slovenia, the trio makes first steps in Croatia and Serbia.
A week after the release, the band performs at the Left of the Dial festival in hometown Rotterdam. For January 2020 indoor boutique festival Rockaway Beach [UK] is announced, in a line-up with among others The Jesus and Mary Chain, Fontaines D.C. and John Cale. More live dates are to be announced.

Since the release of their 2016 eponymous album, the band toured extensively in Europe, including several tours in the United Kingdom, Poland, Austria and Czech Republic. They played at various festivals, including Motel Mozaique and Grasnapolsky in The Netherlands. Internationally, the band performed at MENT Ljubljana [SI], Sharpe Festival Bratislava [SK] and Soundrive Gdansk [PO].
