2019 marks the 25th Anniversary of the day that Solitary pledged their undying loyalty to the thrash metal cause. It’s been a journey of exhilarating highs and crushing lows and what better way to celebrate their ironclad resilience than with a first appearance at the UK’s greatest all-metal festival – BLOODSTOCK OPEN AIR! Solitary will be appearing on Sunday August 11th on the SOPHIE LANCASTER STAGE and have joined a bill that includes fellow thrashers DEATH ANGEL, ANTHRAX and METAL CHURCH and metal giants SCORPIONS, PARKWAY DRIVE and SABATON.
Before their Bloodstock appearance Solitary will be heading out to Europe to play the AGGRESSIVE MUSIC FEST in the Czech Republic, on the weekend of July 19th/20th, with the likes of ROOT and FLESHLESS and fitting in a headline show in Austria as well – their first visit to the country.
To further mark their momentous, quarter of a century anniversary, Solitary will be releasing a DVD – another first for the band – which will cover their full history, featuring new interviews and live footage. Also look out for a limited edition EP and a new album! The band will be back in the studio with producer Simon Efemy later this year to record the follow up to their stunning The Diseased Heart Of Society album.
Finally we would like to announce a change in the Solitary line-up as bassist Pete Hewitt has had to step down from the ranks for personal reasons. Pete remains a good friend of the band and has been helping out behind the scenes with the new DVD. Stepping into Pete’s position, in the most fitting of fashions in this historic year for Solitary, please join us in welcoming back to the band Gaz Harrop! Gaz was an integral part of Solitary from 1998 – 2001, performing on the band’s defiant debut album, Nothing Changes. Having watched the band in rehearsals and on stage in London with Darkane, we can confirm it’s like he’s never been away.
