Astray Valley debuted in January 2015 with Clau Violette in the vocals, Joan Aneris as lead guitarist, Miquel Pedragosa, rhythm guitarist from the band Stained Blood (Melodic Deathcore, Spain), and Jorge Romero as bass guitarist. The band evolved in formation and style until 2015, when Miquel decided to leave the band. Andrew Garcia took his place as rhythm guitarist. Along 2015, Astray Valley played in many shows and some festivals around Spain, including Monster Energy’s Howling Fest, and sharing stage with bands like Ankor, Dawn of the Maya, Teksuo, Hyde Abbey, and many more. In September 2015, Astray Valley released its first EP “Dystopia”, which showed the style the band had developed until that moment. However, with Andrew Garcia leaving the band and the incorporation of Erny Roca as the new drummer in 2016, the sound of the band has been evolving into a new modern and more progressive identity which separates Astray Valley from what it was before, experimenting with more atmospheric instrumentals and emotive vocals.
Along 2016, Astray Valley played in some shows and festivals around Spain, including international bands’ tours like THE AGONIST European Tour 2016 and JINJER’s new album presentation tour. At the end of 2016, Astray Valley signed its first record contract with Wormholedeath Records, an international music label based in Europe, USA and Japan. After months of pre-production work, the band began recording their first LP album in 2017. The production was carried out at the well-known Real Sound Studio in Italy and has been mixed and mastered by Vic Ortega. Throughout 2017, the band released their first single, “Singularity”, which received positive reviews from numerous international media. Thanks to this, the band entered the ROCK FEST 2017 lineup, one of the biggest rock and metal festivals in Europe, along with legendary bands like AEROSMITH, ALICE COOPER, DEEP PURPLE, AVANTASIA, ALTER BRIDGE, ENSIFERUM, and many others.
In addition, the band toured nationally with INFECTED RAIN, a well-known Nu-Metal group from Moldova. At the beginning of 2018, the band released their second single and first music video, “Northlights”, as a presentation of the new album that will be released internationally in 2018. The album explains a story and consolidates the ideas of the band in an ambitious project, which narrates in a fantastic and narrative way the problems and behaviors of the human mind in today’s world. In addition, the band will be part of dates with international bands such as OCEANS ATE ALASKA and OUR HOLLOW, OUR HOME throughout the year.
