With Global CityZen, Dactah Chando drops his sixth album. After the lively Canarian Reggae artist has successfully caught on tape and published a good dose of spirited concert vibes with his 2017 live album Live At Reggae Can Festival, now, Chando fans worldwide can look forward to nine new songs released through Achinech Productions. Dactah Chando, the Godfather of Canarian Style Reggae, produced Global CityZen in cooperation with head engineer Umberto Echo and Gentleman’s current live band The Evolution. Global CityZen will be in stores from April 2018.
Stylistically confident Roots Riddims, made up of well-selected Reggae features, build the longplayer’s musical foundation. “My Way” is the first single from the album and manifests an idea inspired by Blue Phlamez Records from Jamaica, which developed from an interview with 93FM radio host Shavane Jamaine Daley back in 2016.
From Tenerife to Jamaica, from Africa to Europe, from island to island and mainland to mainland, with Global CityZen, the exceptional vibe of Dactah Chando will no longer remain accessible through his studio work alone. In April 2018, the Global Cityzen Europe Tour offers a unique chance to experience Dactah Chando and The Evolution live in concert on their musical trip around the world entitled Global CityZen.

Three years ago, Joe Pilgrim invited us to follow our “Intuitions”. Today he is calling for action with his 6-track EP “Step Out” to be released March 30th. Backed up by the ever-dynamic Ligerians, the French-Beninese singer makes the most of his delicately genuine and airy voice to convey a spiritual message, as he opens new avenues for reflection on the major current issues of our world. Musically, we can find a roots reggae close to the foundation, but ever so actual in the message. We can immediately recognize the sound of the Ligerians, but in a way, this record is more rough, with clear references to the 80’s digital era.

RAZOOF teams up with Jamaican singer KEIDA on “A Plan”, the opening track of his album “Kiwafu”, to deliver a fresh sounding roots reggae tune. KEIDA appeared on the scene with her Rory Stonelove produced hit “Ganja Tea” and her compilation EP “Ebb and flow”.

RAZOOF about the recording: “We had a great day in downtown Kingston recording this song at the Small World Studio on Orange Street. Pure roots reggae vibes while people like Prince Alla and Big Youth are passing by during the recording… pure magic!”

Dub Stuy is releasing a brand new hit for the spring featuring Catalan artist and dub specialist Sr. Wilson called “Zapatillas” – which is the first single from the upcoming “Jitta Riddim” album also featuring Cutty Ranks and Troy Berley.

Singing in a mix of his native Spanish and English, Sr. Wilson shares tales of having the “sneaker-bug” with a catchy chorus that name-checks some of the more popular brands. His blend of Dub and Reggaeton influenced auto-tune is sure to appeal to DJ’s and club worldwide.
